Gundam Action Base 1 Sparkle Clear Green Assembly
I recently bought action base to pose my Master Grade gundam. As you would have noticed, all my gundams pictured in my blog is without the a display stand, therefore their poseability are limited because the legs are required to stabilize the gundam.
There are two types of Action Base by BanDai. I bought two ‘Action Base 1 Sparkle Clear Green’, which ‘1′ means it is used to display 1/100 scale gundam or larger. Type ‘2′ is for smaller gundams (and base is less expensive). They are usually mounted on the hips of gundam.
The color of the base here is ’sparkle clear green’. After discount, it cost me RM 25 each (about 650 yen), although slightly expensive, it’s still better than ordering online, and because by ordering online i have to pay for the shipping cost.

The action base comes in a packet, with overall size of A4 paper. Gundam at the corner of the label is Gundam Exia is from Gundam 00 series.
The back section. See how it is used to mount the gundam.
Let’s unpack it!
Inside the package is a big base in octagonal shape. It’s sides are about 5cm length each.
Accompanying the big base is a package containing three runners. Without wasting much more time, we unpack it!
First runner. Contains connectors.
Second runner. Contains support beams and brackets.
Third runner. The square thing is a smaller base.
The instructions are printed behind the package label.
The instructions are enough to be printed on the label. So there aren’t many steps to assemble it.
First we connect the base. Connect the small square part to the octagonal part. In the center, there’s also a round part. It will later connect to the main support beam and round part enables easy rotation of the beam.
Assembling support pillar. I think the steps are better explained using pictures
completed the support pillar. Now we connect the main beam.
Main support beam consists of a sliding mechanism to increase the length of the beam. It will be locked by a small part by engaging it with the teeth on the sliding part.
This connector links the main beam to the base. Very simple assembly.
Brackets are also simple too. One of the end connects to the main beam and the other end, connects to another bracket (there’s five types of them to chose from, depending on your gundam) and will hold the gundam on the air. It requires screws to secure the bracket since gundam kits can be heavy (several kilograms!) and without the screw, the bracket will roll down due to the weight and gundam fall off.. It will be the end of the gundam if it falls from your top shelf!
Let us try it! My RX-78GP01Fb blocks GP02’s beam saber using its beam jutte mounted on the rifle!
That’s it. The action base is very simple to assemble. Atriulation on GP01Fb slightly limited because by introducing thin plastic between the legs of the gundam, the legs will be slighty blocked. It cannot open as wide as it would be without the stand. But don’t worry, I think this will not be issue for newer gundams especially the new Master Grades because their legs will be designed to fit the Actions Base better. GP01Fb is a 1997 model!
I hope this gives enough info because i also having trouble finding information on Action Base.
By the way, the sparkling clear green base is more suitable for Gundam 00 models because the the color resembles the GN particles. I might buy an MG from Gundam 00 series when it comes out!
